Internal Communications Specialist

For the coming years the People project will be built around three main pillars. The first pillar is about People Operations. The second pillar focuses on People Strategy and the role as business partners. The third pillar concentrates on People Solutions driven by the centers of expertise, for example recruitment, compensation & benefits and learning & development.

This three-pillar strategy is needed to continually strengthen the Decathlon DNA. The People team will optimize their operations and deliver a state-of-the-art employee experience, from onsite to remote interactions. This expertise role is essential in guarding and strengthening the DNA of Decathlon among all stakeholders to create more knowledge and understanding among employees about Decathlon's strategy and their role in achieving organizational goals. In the end this role will add more human value in terms of pride and employee engagement.

The  role

The Internal Communications Specialist works in the HR team and reports to the Team Lead People & Culture . You will lead the internal communications project and the priorities will be set per year based on international and national strategy in close cooperation with the Leadership Team.

Responsibilities;

  • You will be responsible for developing and implementing effective internal communications strategies that contribute to Decathlon's ambitions.

  • Ensure organizational initiatives and projects are successfully communicated to employees and stakeholders in an efficient way and in a timely manner,

  • You work closely with various senior stakeholders within the organization and advise them on internal communications and assist them with the right tools and information about our organization.

  • Draft messages or scripts from senior executives for presentation to employees in written or spoken for

  • Ensure internal communications messages are consistent across all mediums and for different departments of the organization,

  • Plan and write content for a variety of internal communications forums, such as intranet, internal social media, bimonthly newsletter, town halls, presentations, events,..

  • Managing various communication projects e.g. team events and gatherings

  • Measuring and evaluating the effectiveness of internal communications.

  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills in both Dutch and English; French is a big plus!

 Experience

We need someone who will take ownership, a quick thinker who knows when to push and get things done, but also when to slow down and engage with people.

  • You love sports!

  • You have +5 years of relevant work experience in Internal Communications
  • You have a broad experience in leading; developing and implementing internal communication plans for a large organization, with experience with a variety of international audiences
  • Track record of positive results in improving internal communications in organizations in transition
  • You have a bachelor or masters' degree in a relevant area e.g. Communications, Journalism, Public Relations
