WHAT IS THIS TRAINEESHIP ABOUT?
With the sports & retail traineeship we prepare you in three years to become a storeleader in one of our (22) stores in the Netherlands.
Step 1: Teamleader (corresponding starting salary €2450 - €2610)
Welcome to Decathlon! As a teamleader you take your first steps within our organization. You are responsible for a department in the store, which consists of different sports.
Your responsibilities:
- The composition and recruitment of your team
- The personnel planning
- Financial analysis of the sports in your department
- Determining the right product range in your department
- Developing your team's skills and talents
- Conducting monthly conversations with your staff
- Frequently organizing team meetings
Of course we do not expect you to just do all this without a helping hand: you follow at least 10 training courses in one year to quickly develop yourself in these responsibilities.
Step 2: Operations or HR leader (corresponding starting salary €2920)
If you have mastered everything as a teamleader, then it is time for a new step at Decathlon. You will then take on the challenge in the role of operations or HR leader within a (other) store. If you work well according to plan and you like to switch between different parties, then the operations role is often something for you. If human topics appeal to you more, such as increasing job satisfaction or reducing absenteeism, the HR role will appeal to you more. Together with the storeleader you form the leading team of the store. In brief:
Operations leader
As operations leader you are responsible for keeping the store safe for staff and customers. You ensure that everything is maintained and inspected on time by our external parties, so that we comply with our six-monthly safety audits. You also know everything about our goods flows, you organize an annual tax inventory and you train the store team to minimize loose.
HR leader
As an HR leader you are the face of the store when it comes to our people. You ensure that the local area runs smoothly in terms of recruitment, personnel planning, personnel costs, training and absenteeism interviews. You will also, together with the team, translate our internal job satisfaction surveys into local action plans.
To ensure that you can work autonomously in this new role, we offer various training courses for both technical and personal development via our Decathlon Academy platform.
Step 3: Store leader in training (corresponding starting salary €3225)
This is the last step in the journey to storeleader. In this position you take care of a large part of the tasks of the current storeleader, for example recruiting new teamleaders (see function step 1), conducting individual conversations with these teamleaders, developing the local vision or strategy and determining the right store layout.
