Compensations & Benefits Specialist

In 2023 Decathlon will pursue its evolution to get more people to be moved by the wonders of sport, in respect with societies and the planet. To make that happen in the Netherlands the organization needs to continue to evolve. The People Team is crucial in realizing that ambition.

For the coming years the People project will be built around three main pillars. The first pillar is about People Operations and services. The second pillar focuses on People Strategy and the role as business partners. The third pillar concentrates on People Solutions driven by the centers of expertise, for example recruitment, compensation & benefits and learning & development.

The role

The Compensation & Benefit Specialist works in the HR team and reports to the HR Director NL. This expertise role helps us to drive transformation through our biggest value, our people,  and enables us to design the optimal organization structure, roles, and responsibilities. You will help us in hiring the right people and advising us on how to reward and motivate our teammates to live our culture to the fullest.

Responsibilities;

  • Responsible for the local management of Benefit & Reward programs and policies, as well as complex query resolution on international level.  
  • Create flexible, competitive total reward programs that attract, engage and motivates a great group of divers teammates on a (inter)national level. 
  • Support our HR Business partners and Payroll team in complex cases, determine strategies and ensure contracts, letter templates and policies, are all aligned with the latest legislation. 
  • Translate knowledge of the latest developments in the Dutch labor market and labor law into market relevant policies and procedures which are sustainable and reflect our Decathlon culture.
  • Decathlon operates within a global framework, in this role you will have the opportunity to contribute to global C&B related initiatives and support in embedding and implementing the outcome in the organizations in the Netherlands


What do we ask from you?

  • Knowledge of Dutch employment, tax and social security laws and regulations related to compensation and benefits

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications

Experience

  • You love sports!
  • Experience in independently picking up multiple projects and (co-)defining C&B strategy;
  • Broad experience in the total rewards profession: from designing and implementing reward policies and pay structures, to benchmarking and developing benefits in an international context

  • 3- 6 years of working experience in C&B in a complex commercial scale up of similar size

  • Experience with opening offices abroad, i.e. setting up modern C&B policy for this in line with our French headquarters;

  • Experience with social and fiscal legislation, labour law, employment conditions and taxation
  • Relevant completed HBO/WO education
